School Holiday Parenting Plans
Given that the typical school year schedule from the public schools includes at least one weekday off per month and sometimes more than one, it is a good idea to take that into consideration when crafting a residential and holiday schedule in the Parenting Plan.
Take a look at the school district schedule for the next school year following the divorce to figure out what dates the children are going to be out of school and factor that in to your residential/holiday schedule.
Things to consider:
- Whether or not the holiday schedule will include a Friday or Monday if the kids are out of school on those dates.
- What happens if one or both parents are off from work on the Friday or Monday of a holiday/inservice weekend.
- If the residential schedule should require pickup from school or at another time if no school
